So, today i will try to share with you certain things regarding math symbols and definitions. We unknowingly use many math symbols. Following are few basic math symbols and its definitions against it.

The plus sign ( + ): This sign in math signifies the addition sign. This represents the function of addition.
The minus sign ( - ): This sign in math signifies the subtraction sign. This represents the subtracting function.
The divided by sign ( / ): This sign signifies the division sign in math. It represents the function to divide.
The times sign ( * ): This sign signifies the multiplication sign. It represents the function to multiply.
The percent sign ( % ): This sign is used to represent the percentage of a value.
The equal sign ( = ): This sign is used to signify the equality of value.
